Grants, scholarships and donations - remember Deakin
During
its development, Deakin University has received generous support from friends
and alumni. This has helped the University to augment funding provided by
the Federal Government and maintain the quality of its educational programs
and facilities.
Government funding now makes up less than 50 per cent of budgeted revenues.
In the future, the University will be increasingly reliant on external support,
including gifts, endowment income and research grants. Your gift can help
fund facilities, programs, research and scholarships.
You can designate your gift for a particular school or program, or leave your
gift unrestricted so that it can be used for University-wide facilities, scholarships,
research or technology.
There are a number of ways in which you can give to Deakin, including:
- Bequests - You can give to Deakin University through bequests, wills and trusts and leave
a lasting legacy to assist students, research and the University now and in
the future
- Scholarships - Deakin University currently has a variety of scholarships to provide financial
and academic assistance to those students who many not otherwise have the
means to allow study at a tertiary level but exhibit the strong willingness
and motivation to do so. Deakin also awards scholarships based on academic
excellence or merit
- Grants and donations - Your donation may be in the form of a monetary grant or a gift of a significant
item, for example the giving of an historic book collection for the library,
or an artwork for display or materials for use in education and research programs.
You may also want to direct your gift to a particular faculty or division
or to support one of the many research programs
All donations, large or small, are gratefully received.
