Research centres

The Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation is based on wide networks of research affiliations and operates at the cutting edge of international research. Two established research centres, and one research concentration provide the organisational core of the ICG. Through these centres and the work of individual academics, the ICG brings together internationally recognised scholars from diverse areas who provide a range of perspectives on the new meanings of citizenship in an interconnected world.

The Centre for Citizenship, Development and Human Rights (CCDHR) is the most prominent Australian centre for research that focuses on citizenship and human rights issues as they affect the development of democracy and civil society.

The Cultural Heritage Centre for Asia and the Pacific (CHCAP) is the leading Australian research institution in the Asia-Pacific and World Cultural Heritage field. This is supported by current and submitted ARC projects, and by recognition as the forum UNESCO centre for the Asia-Pacific region.

The Refugee Studies Group (RSG) is a cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary research forum focussed on research into refugees’ rights, settlement needs, asylum policy, and the role of NGOs. The RSG is a research network open to researchers, community workers and activists.

The Australian Middle East Research Forum (AMERF) is a cross-institutional, cross-disciplinary research forum focused on research into the Middle East from an Australian perspective. AMERF is a research network open to researchers and anyone interested in the region.
