Deakin University - Courses
Following the reintroduction last year of the Master of Dietetics, the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences has formed a new partnership with three Melbourne metropolitan hospitals – Austin Health, Royal Melbourne and Western Health – to introduce an exciting initiative.
Deakin’s Dietetics Clinical Schools will provide provisional clinical education of dietetics and will foster joint research activities and opportunities for the clinical site to have direct involvement in the shaping and structure of our dietetics program. At each of the Clinical Schools, support is provided for a Clinical Educator who will oversee an integrated supervision model based on the Department of Human Services Clinical Supervision Project undertaken in 2007.
While the majority of Deakin dietetics students will undertake their clinical placements within Clinical Schools, Deakin will continue to work with and support, supervisors teaching students at hospital sites in metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria.
