Many employers actually recruit graduates who are Australian citizens or who have permanent residency. They train them for the particular needs of their organisation and after a year or two in the program the graduates continue their employment with the company.
Graduate recruitment for such positions usually takes place in March and April, with fewer opportunities over the whole year. Interviews and selection are conducted for jobs starting the next year.
