Data sets available in the Cognos 8 environment are called packages.
Package 1: Student Load Monitoring. Provides reports of actual and forecast owned and taught load against Enrolment Plan targets, covering 2007 onwards. Data displayed at the school and course level of granularity.
Package 2: Student Course Enrolments. Provides course level reports of EFTSL and counts of student course enrolments, covering 2006 onwards.
Package 3: Unit Level Student Data. Allows actual EFTSL monitoring of unit-level statistics or discipline group level summaries from 2006 onwards.
Package 4: Owned Load Time Series. Provides course-level summary data from 2000 onwards.
Package 5: Taught Load Time Series. Provides taught load summary data from 2000 onwards.
Package 6: VTAC Applicant Data. Provides preference and enrolled applicant data for VTAC applicants to all institutions.
Development of the Data Warehouse is continuing, and further packages will be added according to the priorities established by the Data Warehouse Steering Committee.
The initial development of the Data Warehouse includes a number of predefined monitoring reports for the University and for each faculty. In addition, Cognos Query Studio is a web-based query tool which allows users to create, save and run their own queries from the available data packages.
Predefined reports and Query Studio are accessed through the Cognos 8 BI portal (new window).
