For instance, second year journalism students in Warrnambool have the opportunity to write and select stories for a monthly educational lift-out in the city’s flagship daily, The Warrnambool Standard.
You will be taught by academic staff members with extensive professional experience and have access to high quality facilities and the very latest in technology. For example, if you engage in animation and digital culture, film and video, or interactive media studies you will have the opportunity to work in the Motion.Lab, one of Australia’s largest and most sophisticated motion capture facilities.
Communication and media offers graduates many employment opportunities – from journalism and public relations, to writing, film direction, photography and multimedia development. Strong industry relations, work placements, accreditation and an emphasis on developing practical skills distinguish Deakin’s communication and media courses.
At an undergraduate level we offer Bachelor of Arts with major sequences in Media and Communication, Public Relations and Professional and Creative Writing, Bachelor of Film and Digital Media, Bachelor of Creative Arts (Graphic Design) and Bachelor of Interactive Media. A number of combined courses are also available.
We offer postgraduate courses from graduate certificate to masters level, in many areas including children's literature, journalism, professional writing, public relations, creative enterprise, professional communication and film and video.
