Sport at Deakin

At Deakin we offer high quality, innovative sport programs, leading to exciting career options, ground-breaking research and a network of graduates already working in the sport industry.

Course diversity and specialisations also mean that you are able to access staff expertise in each area of study. Through study programs you will be offered the latest research, as well as close networks and contacts within the sports sector.

Our courses

At Deakin you can study sport as a science (Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science), sport as education (Bachelor of Physical Education) or sport as a business (Bachelor of Commerce – major sequence in Sport Management). The Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Management) allows you to gain specialist sport management knowledge, as well as equipping you with a broad business degree. The flexible structure enables you to combine your studies in sport management with other specialist areas, such as marketing, management or accounting.

Deakin sport also offers unique combined courses, such as the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Commerce – major sequence in sport management, as well as multi-disciplinary degrees. The most recent multi-disciplinary degree is the Bachelor of Sport Development, which is the first of its type in Australia.

For studies in sport at postgraduate level we offer the Graduate Certificate and Master of Business (Sport Management).

Study areas available include: education, exercise and sport science, health sciences, physical education and sport development.
