True access, genuine equity

Deakin University is committed to access and equity and recognises the importance of access to higher education to all members of the community. Our access and equity programs support students from a diverse range of backgrounds who have suffered educational disadvantage to access the benefits of higher education.

Access and equity at Deakin offers you special entry conditions, scholarships that defray costs, and on-going support during your studies. You can apply for an access and equity place at Deakin University through VTAC’s Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

Even if you are not planning to submit an application through SEAS, Deakin has a comprehensive range of generous scholarships developed specifically for:

People who may not otherwise have the opportunity to access higher education
Students from disadvantaged financial backgrounds
Students from rural and regional backgrounds
Students with a disability, or long-term medical condition
Mature-aged students
Indigenous students
Students from under-represented schools
