How to apply for scholarships

Commencing students - VTAC applicants

VTAC applicants who are completing their VCE in 2008 may apply for a Deakin Academic Scholarship using the Deakin Scholarships online form. Applications for this scholarship close 5pm Wednesday 24 December 2008.

Applications for all other Deakin Scholarships are now closed.

Documentation

Supporting documentation must be provided by 5pm Monday 10 November 2008 to:

If supporting documentation is not received, applications will not be considered.

Supporting documentation must be submitted by applicants who have stated they are from disadvantaged financial backgrounds, rural or regional locations or have a disability or long term medical condition affecting their studies.


Supporting documentation required for:

Financial disadvantage
If you answered that you are in receipts of any of the Centrelink benefits listed, you will need to provide a certified copy of current Centrelink payment evidence of low income.

If you are not in receipt of any of the Centrelink benefits listed, but your family's income is below $39,825, you will need to provide evidence of family taxable income less than $39,825 (e.g. a copy of your tax assessment statement).

If you are independently supported and your income is below $39,825, you will need to provide evidence of independent taxable income less than $39, 825 (e.g. a copy of your tax assessment statement).

Living or having lived in a rural or regional location
You will need to provide evidence of your rural address (e.g. utility bill), for three of the last four years prior to commencing your course of study, or evidence of your enrolment at a rural school (e.g. a letter from your school or school reports).

Disability or long term medical condition
You will need to provide a certified copy of a medical certificate to support your claim.
