Improving regional health and medical care

This exciting project, due to admit its first students in 2008, is the largest of the eight new Australian medical schools established in the last ten years and will require ongoing support.

Boost to the economy and the community

In terms of direct inward investment the total package will achieve:

• Over 600 direct and indirect jobs during the $54 million building construction phase
• More than 800 ongoing direct and indirect jobs once the program is established
• Around $92 million total output per annum resulting from the operation of the medical program
