Chairs

Companies and industry groups can expand the knowledge bases in their areas of interest through the endowment of professorial chairs.

Professorial chairs provide focus and leadership in specialised research. An endowed chair may lead to advances in research which align to your company's or industry's business and corporate citizenship goals. They provide a very specific way for industry to work in partnership with Deakin University in agreed study fields and to build sustainable areas of expertise, which are linked to the needs of industry. The appointed chair provides leadership and delivers the critical mass necessary to build a centre of excellence in the prescribed field of research.

Donor organisations can derive significant long-term benefits through the knowledge and information flowing from focused study and research. These endowments are a targeted way to achieve lasting industry improvements. Chairs can be funded in perpetuity or for a designated period, usually no less than five years.

Contact University Development to discuss the endowment of professorial chairs.
