The following scholarships and awards are available in 2009.

Handbury Scholarship Accommodation for a resident of Victoria, preferably rural or regional area of Victoria, who is from a socio-economic disadvantaged background, or is in financial need, or has a demonstrable disadvantage and can demonstrate commitment to rural or regional medical practice.

Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship For living expenses to students able to demonstrate financial disadvantage - based on academic merit

Deakin Accommodation Scholarship For accommodation expenses to students from rural backgrounds able to demonstrate financial disadvantage - based on academic merit

Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship For living expenses to students from rural backgrounds able to demonstrate financial disadvantage - based on academic merit

Coltman Awards Award for purchase of equipment, including a laptop computer. Awarded to financially disadvantaged applicants with the highest entry score

Four Points by Sheraton Award (Not offered in 2009) 2 year scholarship for a financially disadvantaged student from a rural area to support accommodation in the residences during the first 2 years of the course

Medical Rural Bonded Scholarship Awarded to students bonded to practise in a rural or remote region for six years

Dr Gilbert M Davis Award Awarded to students able to demonstrate financial hardship to suport relocation or accommodation costs

George Golding Award Awarded to a student who was educated in the Geelong region who intends to return to the region to practise medicine - based on academic merit and equity
