Our efforts in developing these relationships culminated in recognition of Deakin University as University of the Year in 1999/2000 (joint winner with University of Wollongong), on the basis of excellence in partnerships. The Faculty of Faculty of Health, Medicine, Nursing and Behavioural Sciences, with its partners, was instrumental in winning this award.

In the Faculty of Faculty of Health, Medicine, Nursing and Behavioural Sciences the development of partnerships has been a key strategy in strengthening the Faculty’s position in the health education sector. The partnerships provide increased opportunities for collaborative research, expand our placement options, enhance our teaching programs and extend our community links. Partner organisations have benefited from the arrangements through access to health professionals, researchers, graduates, training and education resources, and external research funding.
