Client Services liaises with academic and administrative staff across the University to promote, support and coordinate development of enhanced course content and promotional materials, principally to enrich the student learning experience.
Supported by the Resources and Development unit, Client Services link the teaching, learning and promotional materials needs of faculties and divisions with the creative and productive competencies of Deakin's design, development and logistics teams to achieve quality digital, online and printed resources.
A Client Services Manager is assigned to a portfolio of faculties to scope requirements for development of course materials in advance of each semester.
The planning process is initiated each semester by submission of a comprehensive faculty program of unit codes and service levels, co-ordinated by designated faculty co-ordinators. The program identifies requests for development of course materials for each unit in the curriculum.
Each unit code is assigned a service level to indicate the type of development required by the unit chair for units offered next semester as authorised by the faculty. Unit chairs then submit new and revised content for course material development such as study guides and readings, in line with the course development planning process.
As part of the service, Client Service Managers liaise with educational designers from the faculty and/or Institute of Teaching and Learning to assist unit chairs in scoping resources to support service level 3-4 development.
