Staff and students from other Australian universities and Victorian TAFEs.

CAVAL borrowers

CAVAL borrowers are staff and students from other Victorian universities and TAFE institutes. First register in the Reciprocal Borrowing Program at your own institution's library, and you will be given a CAVAL card which is valid until the end of the calendar year. If you wish to continue your membership at our library after that date, you must have your CAVAL card re-authorised.

To become a member of the Library you will need to complete an application form, and submit it to any campus library, together with photo identification.

ULA borrowers

ULA borrowers are staff and students from other Australian universities. You will need to complete an application form, provide photo proof of identity, and proof that you are a current staff/student from another Australian university. The expiry date of your registration will be 28th February of the year following registration. To continue your membership after this date you will need to re-enrol.

OUA - Open University Australia students

Resources and facilities are made available at your own institution library. Deakin University Library can offer you a library subscription membership as a Community Borrower, if you want to borrow items from the collection.

Your responsibilities

It is your responsibility to make yourself familiar with the conditions of loan.

If you are unable to return an item on time, or if you have lost or damaged it, report this immediately to Deakin University Library. You will be advised of the steps you should take. Reporting the problem will help in maintaining your good record.

You will need to notify your own library, as well as Deakin University Library, if you change your address, terminate your enrolment or lose your CAVAL, or Library Borrowing card.
