Borrowing information for MIBT students
Borrowing within Deakin
- To borrow in person
- You must
have your MIBT student card.
- Borrow from the Inquiries and Loans Desk at any campus or use the Library's Express Loans Unit.
- Library ID (borrowing) number
Your borrowing number is located at the bottom of your Deakin Card, underneath the barcode and begins with X011....
- Number of items that can be borrowed and the length of time
- 20 items,
- for 14 days,
- with up to 3 renewals of each item- if not requested by another user.
- My Library
To check your My Library record :
- Items at other campuses
You can request an item from another campus to be sent to your nominated campus for pick up, or to have it delivered to you via internal mail.
- Returning items
- Items can be returned at any campus library.
- You can renew an item you have on loan if it is not required by another user, or it is not long overdue.
- Overdues, penalty points, invoices, encumbrances.
- Items must be returned or renewed by the due date.
- The Library does not charge monetary fines for overdue items, instead a penalty point system is used.
- There are times when you will be invoiced for items you have borrowed, and the Library enforces encumbrances for any unpaid invoices.
- Past exams
Are available via the MIBT Portal
You are able to place a Hold on an item that is out on loan, and when available, it will be sent to you via the internal mail.
