Australian Multicultural Literature Collection

The Australian Multicultural Literature Collection consists of works by non-Aboriginal authors who are:

  • Residents in Australia but born overseas in a non-English speaking country and whose first language is not English
  • Australians born in Australia or Australian citizens resident overseas, of overseas born parents from non-English speaking backgrounds
While most of this material is located in the general collection, the following categories are held in the Special Collection at the Geelong Waterfront Campus:
  • rare material
  • limited editions of 500 copies or less
  • self-published works
  • small press publications
  • flimsy, pamphlet-type items
  • items signed by the author
  • costly items
  • manuscripts
