Residences Academic Achievement Awards

Division of Student Life

High-achieving students living on campus at Deakin were recently awarded Residences Academic Achievement Awards.

Following release of mid-year results, Residential Managers on each Campus review the grades of residents. Those residents who have achieved high academic results (usually a mix of high distinction and distinction grades) receive a Residences Academic Achievement Award.

For Semester 1, there were 62 recipients across the Campuses comprising eight from the Melbourne Campus at Burwood, 30 from the Geelong Campuses and 24 from the Warrnambool Campus.

The residents are recognised at Campus social functions, with a presentation of either a book voucher or small gift.
It is pleasing to note that the number of students eligible for academic achievement awards has increased in 2008. Congratulations to the students and to the Division of Student Life residential staff for their efforts in fostering the on-campus living and learning communities, supported by programs such as academic mentoring programs, resident study groups, liaison with Faculty staff, and a range of residential support programs that assist with residents’ adjustment and transition to university.
