Deakin student competing at the Olympics

Deakin physical education student Jeff Riseley has been accepted into the Australian Olympic team for the Beijing Olympics, and will compete in the 1500 metre track event.

After recording an A qualifier time in Rome a few weeks ago – just outside the qualification timeframe – the Australian Olympic Committee used its discretion to select the 21-year-old for the event.

The University wishes Jeff the best of luck in his quest.
