Over 50 information technology students attended the ExcITing Careers expo on Wednesday 30 July at the Melbourne Campus at Burwood. As part of the National ICT careers week, ExcITing Careers gave students the opportunity to gain first hand advice about the wide range of careers options and graduate recruitment opportunities available in information technology from industry experts.

Students received valuable career and recruitment information from guest information technology professionals. Delloite Consulting presented The Life of an IT Consultant, while Working in an In-House IT Service Provider was the topic of discussion by Telstra. The Business of IT Project Management was explained by Terra Firma. An industry panel was available to answer individual queries and students were given general advice about applying for jobs, interviews, marketability and industry trends from Rymer Executive Research.

Lunch provided an ideal platform for students to interact with industry professionals one on one.

This event was a joint venture between the School of Engineering and IT and the School of Information Systems.
