The School of Architecture and Building operates a multidisciplinary research program serving the needs of the architecture and building profession. The group undertakes research into the history, theory, design practice and performance of architecture, construction management, public space and private sector property development and sustainable built environments. The Schools research group provides intellectual leadership to the architecture, property and real-estate, planning, construction and facilities management fields through collaborative networks of research-active academics, external experts and industry partners.
The School has established national and international connections with industry, research organisations and other universities which inform the research programs currently being conducted and enhance the potential for the development of research in new areas. Currently, the School is developing connections with researchers in other schools across the University to form cross-disciplinary teams specifically aimed at investigating environmental issues.
