Young people can face a variety of challenges as they navigate life and study. Young people often find it hard/embarrassing to talk about the many issues/problems facing them.
Deakin Health Service staff provide students access to a young people friendly service, aimed at encouraging students to discuss and seek help via health/other appropriate professionals
Students can seek help/advice on a variety of issues concerning them ranging from chronic health conditions, safety concerns, feelings and emotions to drugs/smoking and alcohol, safe sex and eating/exercise issues. All appointments are strictly confidential.
Where appropriate Health Service staff work with/refer to other professionals including personal counsellors and the Disability Resource Centre and/or external agencies.
If you are concerned about a student you can contact a staff member directly to discuss. Further information on available services and location/contact details can be found at http://www.deakin.edu.au/current-students/services/health/index.php
