Career development learning resources
The Career and Employment Unit have expertise in developing and integrating career development learning resources within courses and may be contacted for assistance in this area. Typically careers materials can be incorporated within:
- Internship or other form of experiential learning units
- Professional practice units
- Elements of courses that are designed to teach the Deakin attributes and employability skills
- Units that contain content designed to assist the transition to employment
These resources have the following features which assist their incorporation within teaching and learning:
- Can be delivered online or face to face
- Are assessable
- Are tailored to the area of study
- Can be delivered by staff from the Career and Employment Unit or developed for academic staff
- Are based on a theoretically sound model of career development
Outcomes for students and faculty are likely to include improved:
- graduate employment outcomes
- engagement and retention
- decision making regarding course and career choices
